Breast fed babies weaned later than formula fed babies.
New results from the Childhood Obesity project, published this month in the
Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, show that mothers who
breast feed their babies are also more likely to follow recommendations to delay
the introduction of solid foods.

Excessive dieting during pregnancy might cause problems for child later on.
A study, published 1st May in the Journal of the Federation of American
Societies of Experimental Biology, has shown that lambs whose mothers had a
restricted diet during early pregnancy and who were then allowed to grow fat,
have a reduced capacity to store fat compared to fat lambs whose mothers had not
been on a restricted diet.
